Day 33....A'paintin' and a'caulkin'....

It is now less that six weeks before Alan comes home. A few weeks ago, my wonderful father-in-law was nice enough to build us a closet in the garage below the loft for the bulk of our wardrobe and other storage. The reason was simple...the loft is so tiny, there is no room for a closet in it, and storage is at a premium. Even with as much as I've pared down my belongings since moving, there is still no possible way I could live up there with zero storage.

Enter my F-I-L...

For several weeks now, we've been doing our best to finish it so it would be done in time for the Big Move, but the weather has been prohibitive, to say the least. It's either been raining, snowing, or below freezing every day since then. Today, that changed. It actually was a beautiful day...blue skies, warm sun, and mild temps. So...we pounced. While he built the shelving for the inside, I screwed down the top of the closet and caulked the entire thing, inside and out. (Ain't no spiders finding hidey-holes in my closet...no sir...!)

Then, we both painted. It's been a loooong day, but I feel really good now. With just the bottom inside to finish painting, it will easily be finished in time for me to move in two weeks. And that will leave me about three weeks to get everything perfect for my hunny's arrival. :)
