Day 40...New Zoo Review

I have now completed my first week at my new job. It's been a week full of highs and lows, to be sure, but all in all, I can't remember the last time I felt so fulfilled. Never at Douglas, where I must admit, although I loved the people I worked with, I never got past feeling as though I were a temp. Possibly at Maverick....although that job was less creative and more maintenance in nature. My sense of accomplishment there was due to the fact that I was able to stay on top of it all.

No...in all honesty, I think the last time I felt this fulfilled was probably when I worked for the limousine company and had to create a position that had never existed....much like I'm having to do now, but on a different level. At London Livery, there'd never been an HR department. Here, there has been....but it's been allowed to go completely to pot. As bad as it's been allowed to get, though...I've seen worse. And the challenge of it all makes my fingers fairly itch to get to it and put it all to rights.

I think I've made a pretty good start this week, and I've definitely got a good feel for what I need to be doing and a good plan for where I need to go. And I've got an awesome staff to do it with. Now it's just a matter of formulating plans and implementing them. I have to admit...the adrenaline's pumping, and I'm excited that the creative juices are being allowed to flow again.
