So, after a bit of teasing to get Luggie interested and properly motivated, Keith let fly into the lake.
...and being the good boy that he is, Luggie promptly took off after it, and did a great job retrieving!
After quite a few rounds of this, however, the excitement eventually began to wane, and our boy started getting a bit tired. Keith decided to throw one last time, but one last time seemed to be one too many for our tired puppy.
When he went to bite down on the frisbee, it took on just enough water to float below the surface. And although he tried to get his face underwater, he couldn't catch hold of it again without getting a snootful of water....which did not make our little guy happy. Eventually, he abandoned his quest and headed back to shore without it.
It didn't take long for him to find another distraction, though. Swarms of butterflies were gathering all over the beach area, and Luggie had great fun chasing them whenever he found a group.
When that got old, he just played in and out of the waves, biting the water and splashing around with his ever-vigilant dad close by...just in case he was needed.
It was a very restful day, the sky was unbelievably blue, and there were scores of sailboats on the lake.
It was obvious that our little guy enjoyed himself immensely, and we vowed to make sure we took him on lots more excursions from now on, now that he seems to have really gotten his strength back!
There are no words to describe what it feels like to watch him play like this after being so sick for so long!
