Four years ago today, I married the man of my dreams in a very ...shall we say 'eclectic'....ceremony. Today, we celebrated by bringing our beloved boy home from the hospital after an overnight stay (his first away from home) to get his rear dewclaws removed and be neutered.
In my whole life, I don't believe I've seen anything as pitiful as our Lugnut when we put the 'collar of shame' on him. I've had to use these plenty of times in the past, for one reason or another with previous pets, and the results were generally highly comical, I must say.
Not this time, though. Our poor wee lad just sat there, hanging his head in abject misery, sure that he was being horribly punished for some unknown offense.
It got so bad that we finally took the thing off...we couldn't stand seeing him like this! Fortunately, our boy is so good that we never had to reprimand him for licking or chewing on his stitches.
I will say, though, that I hope Keith and I can find some other, much more enjoyable way to spend our anniversary NEXT year!
